‘Is that My Granny?’ explores the phases in a grandmother’s journey with Alzheimer’s disease as observed through the eyes of a young boy. He must come to terms with the changes in his grandmother’s body and character, and accept her eventual death. The book is loosely based on the experiences of my nephews with their grandmother who suffered with Alzheimer’s for many years.
It has been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French and German to spread awareness of Alzheimer’s disease to children in many different cultures.
