Bell Box Mural – All That Jazz
This week, I worked on my most ambitious street art project to date – a Bell Box Murals Commission. I painted 4 sides of a really wide Bell Box at the corner of St. Clair Ave and Raglan Rd., Toronto (close to Bathurst Street). My Jazz design was selected among six from 60 entries for the Toronto-St Pauls Neighbourhood Murals 2020! Six murals were painted on Bell Canada utility boxes as part of the 2020 Bell Box Murals Project. The murals are a partnership between Ward 12 Toronto-St. Paul’s councillor Josh Matlow, City of Toronto, and Community Matters Toronto.
Please remember to Like my Art by Jennylynd James Facebook page where I’ve posted lots of photos and information on the project!
Friends in Toronto please visit the box, take a selfie, post and tag me!
Check out my Youtube video which shows some of the steps in creating the Bell Box Mural
At the Beginning was a big brown Bell Box
I primed the box then painted on a light brown background colour
The next step was sketching the characters and painting blocks of colour, followed by filling in a few details.
Here’s the finished product!
